I am torn.
I signed up for the Reddit gift Exchange, a "Secret Santa" situation that they do year-round involving different themes through the year. The theme of THIS Gift Exchange is "DISNEY".
...And you al know how I feel about Disney ;)
So really I was more excited to SEND a Disney gift to somebody than I was to receive anything, as Disneyland is my PASSION. Oh the things I could sent this person! Books! Clothes! Pictures! Toys! All sorts of Disney FUN!
I retrieved the information about the person I was getting a gift for, and my heart sank. First question they ask you is "What do you like most about Disney?" Their reply was along the lines of "I guess I like that they have the power and money to accomplish whatever they want".
Okay...
Second question: What's you favorite Disney movie or character? "I love Star Wars! Star Wars is the only Disney thing I like! I can hardly wait to see what they can do with the new Star Wars movies with all of that Disney money to throw at it! Star Wars YAAAAAAY!!! Send me Star Wars stuff!"
So I don't get to send off any cool Disney stuff at all, and even if I DO send Disney stuff, this guy isn't going to appreciate it :(
I have THREE OPTIONS, which one do you think I should go with?
1) Go ahead and send a bunch of Disney stuff anyways, since this is a Disney Gift Exchange after all and you really shouldn't have signed up for Disney Gifts if all you want is stuff from a franchise that was only recently purchased by them.
2) Send an awesome home-made Riddelbarger Lamp that I titled "The Story Of Star Wars As Told By C3P0" which I love and is awesome.
3) Send a less-awesome Riddelbarger Lamp that has no title, featuring R2D2 wearing Mickey Mouse ears so that there's at least SOME Disney in the gift.

Date: 2015-06-17 06:30 pm (UTC)It was all worth it when I found out I made my giftee cry and helped her through a rough patch (divorce).
It's not why I do these things, but the best thing I've received from an exchange is a hand-made Spider-man e-reader cover/pouch. It's AMAZING.
