022 - Prince Kylo Ren?

I've seen a lot of people postulating that since Princess Leia is officially a "Disney Princess", and since Kylo Ren is her son, that makes Kylo Ren a "Disney Prince". Unfortunately, no. Check my math and let me know if I'm wrong...

See, A king and queen's children are prince and princess.
A prince and princess' offspring are prince and princess.
A princess not married to a prince does not pass down her title to her children.
Children assume the titles of their fathers.
Their title depends on the father's titles.

Got that? tl;dr - the title of "Prince" or "Princess" is hereditary, passed down through a bloodline.

NOW, we have Princess Leia Organa, who WAS a Princess till it was revealed/discovered that she is not actually a blood relative of the Organa Family. Her kid(s) would all have no more or less royal entitlement than their father, who has no royal title at all.

Plus, the "kingdom" of Alderaan is, y'know... not there any more.

It's an assumption that the titles are patrilineal in that universe, and unnecessary for the argument that he's not a prince.

She's not a real princess. She has no actual claim to the line. Therefore her son has none either.

And I refuse to acknowledge Kylo Ren as a "prince" in any way. Just.... ugh.

Leia would be considered a Princess, even without Alderaan actually existing. Bail Organa may not have sired her, but he did adopt her. Legally, he was her father, so she would have inherited the title.

If Leia and Han had legalized their union, Ben could have inherited the title. The rules of title inheritance have been changed to reflect modern views. Most European countries that have Royalty/Titles have changed the laws so that the first born male OR female, inherit the title.

Of course, given Ben/Kylo's views and actions, up to and including what he did to his own father, I'd say it is a safe bet that Leia has probably dis-inherited him.
