- Thought the Comic Book Convention started at 9 and decided I didn't care if we were a bit late (so totaly out of character for me), so we woke up gradualy and got to the Seattle Center at about 9:15. Ends up, the convention didn't start till 10, and we were the second and third persons in line. WOOT!

-Freebies at the convention were posters for Jason Vs. Freddy, Sundance Film Festival, Cabin Fever, and Shaolin Soccer. Plus an American Splendor pinback button, School Of Rock pencils, and a Neil Gaiman bookmark.

-"The Bootleg Video Guy", whom I have bought my bootleg videos from for the past 15 years for $20 a pop (or three vids for $50) was "Blowing Out" his Master Copies of some great stuff on VHS for only $5 a tape, since he is converting everything over to DVD now. So I picked up "The Star Wars Holiday Special" (so bad it makes you have to shower afterwards), "Sam Raimi & Bruce Campbell Rarities Tape" (which includes some of the high school and college films those boys made back in the day), and "Boy Toy Commercials" (get your mind out of the gutter... it's a collection of Toy commercials from the 60's and 70's aimed at boys).

-"The Scary Quarter-Bin Guy", who looks like Chrispin Glover with Edgar Allen Poe's hair, had a whole new batch of stuff in his bins. 5 for a DOLLAR! WOOT! Picked up some Usagi Yojimbo, An issue of "What If" (for Penny, who could not be there because of all the being preggers, but the only way she'll actually GET the comic book is if she mentions it), Lost In Space, Radioactive Man, "Big Bang Comics" and a whole TON of Anne Rice comics. I have reading material for the next SEVERAL days!

-Crystal bought a gazillion Magic Cards from this guy who was selling them 50 for a dollar. Random cards, no rares or uncommons, but a great mix of cards going all the way back to The Dark.

-Afterwards, we went and saw "Cabin Fever" at the Mount Lake 9 Cinema. I had heard lots of good stuff about it, how it was the next "Evil Dead", how it was so savagely different... but really, it wasn't that different. it was just a re-arrangement of classic movies. it was like "Ooh! That's just like in Friday the 13th! Ooh! And that's like in Evil Dead! And that's from Texas Chainsaw Massacre! Uhm... and that was a TOTAL rip-off of Night of the Living Dead. What the hell? Haven't I seen all these movies before?" So even though it pissed me off that they ripped off every other horror flick in existance, I actually enjoyed it quite a bit!
