captain_slinky | Ya know what I hate?

I hate people that try to use "news items" from fan-sites and message boards to prove something that just isn't true. Case in point: Invader Zim. Early last week, rumors started floating around the internet claiming that Nickelodeon had cancelled the most popular cartoon they've had since Sponge Bob Square Pants. To me, these rumors sound *almost* as convincing as the "news" I heard about The Government passing a law that would tax all E-Mail corespondence. But the fans... oh, the FANS! I'd say 90% of them are taking this rumor as the Word Of God! Even though none of the actual parties involved (Nickelodeon or Jhonen Vasquez, the creator of the cartoon), they all have pointed me to Geocities and Tripod fan-sites that support their claims. Or, those that even go the extra mile will point me towards a message board where someone has copy-n-pasted the information off a fan site in to a message. Ooh, THAT proves it!
