... or are there like 80% of the Magic The Gathering players out there right now that *used* to play, gave up some time shortly after Ice Age or Alliances, then started up again with Stronghold? What's up with that? It's not as if Stronghold is really that great of an expansion or anything, right? But it's so hard to believe that all of us just suddenly and at the exact same moment decided that we wanted to start playing again. Time to put on my conspiracy-cap and think of how they did this...

...Maybe subliminal messages in the Spiderman Movie Commercials?

It's funny how much of a fanatic I am. Whenever someone will even *mention* May 3rd, Comic Books, or Spider Man, I start mumbling "SpidermanComingToATheaterNearYouMay3dr2002CheckLocalListingsRatedPG-13" like some sort of idiot-savant counting spilled toothpicks at a random restaurant. I've even *tried* to stop myself from doing it, but before I realize it, it's too late!

So now I have quite a problem to deal with. See, I'm supposed to perform the marriage of two friends on either May 3rd or May 4th. May 3rd, Spiderman comes to a theater near me, and I have to check the local listings and the movie is rated PG-13. May 4th is Free Comic Book Day across this great nation of ours (<ahref="http://www.freecomicbookday.com">Click Here For More Info). So in a *perfect* world, I would go spend the night in line at the theater on May 2nd, watch Spidey over and over again until the following day, at which time I would then travel from comic book store to comic book store gathering as many comics as I could! Unfortunately, I can only do one of these things to its full extent, and the other to a lessened degree.

Which should I do?

Having thought it over a bit, I think the best plan of action for *me* is to perform the wedding on Friday, after catching a matinee of Spiderman. Then, if time permits later that evening, I can catch a few later showings as well. This will leave Saturday open for Free Comic Hopping! And I have my route all mapped out, too! I'll hit The Comic Stop first, then work my way north through Everett, then hop the highway up to the U-District, hit those shops, then mozy my way down Highway 99 so I can hit the last few shops to be found. That's 7 comic shops, 9 if I decide to hit Woodinville as well. Bringing my beloved with me to maximize the amount of free comics I can get!

Of course, this will all be dependant on the bride and groom, and when they would like to get married. How DARE they fall in love and decide to get married during a summer when Spiderman is going to be in theaters?!?!?

I just found out that my Big Sister Vicky is moving back in to the same state as me... and she's gonna practically be a neighbor! I'm really looking forward to this, as she is the one of my siblings that I know the least. And best of all, she has a son that I can teach in the ways of Comic Books! Last time I saw him (about 2 years ago), we was very interested in comics. Now is my chance to recruit another future geek!

A tale of woe for my father...

"i came down the road on my way home from work and saw your dads truck sitting in a peculiar spot. it looked like it was wedged between two trees over by his garden. upon further inspection i saw that it was between two trees but not wedged....it was buried in mud up to the running board. right away i knew this was going to be a good one. it seems your father decided he was going to mow that lawn even tho there was visible standing water so he got out his rider and proceeded to mow but not very far because he buried his mower in the mud like he does every year only a little worse this year. then he decided to use his truck to pull his mower out but that only buried his truck deeper. i followed the mud trail to the house where he did manage to take off his muddy shoes but he was sitting in his chair drinking wine. he looked like he had been there for a while because the mud that was caked all over his body was dry. he finally got Bobbie to come over this morning and get him out. i finally stopped laughing sometime yesterday. "IDIOT!!" i am soooo sorry i didnt think to take pictures. especially of him in his favorite position covered with mud. too, too funny! i think its time to find him a companion while i'm at work."
