Pink Flamingos
Jul. 21st, 2005 10:26 amFor the first time ever (thanks to the magic of Comcast's "On Demand" service) I have finally seen John Waters' immortaly classic film "Pink Flamingos".
Dear LORD.
As most of you know, it is not easy to offend me. I *am* the guy who inspects his bowel movements and skidmarks for secret messages, after all. But I am proud to say that this early 70's cult-classic film had eve me (ME!) saying "Dude, that is just wrong" and nearly turning away in revulsion.
It hits EVERY SINGLE OFFENSIVE ACT OR CONCEPT. Is there anything you're personally offended by or have strong moral feelings about? Is there a line which you feel should absolutely *NEVER* be crossed? Oh yeah, they crosed that line. ALL of them.
I was very suprised that becaue of some loophole in the ratings system, this feature was only rated "TVMA".
So am I glad I watched it? Yeah... yeah I am. It was a chunk of my subculture geekosity that was sorely lacking till now. But would I reccomend that anybody else see i? Aww hell no.
But if you ARE inclined and you're a Comcast Digital Cable subscriber, it'll e available all this month in the "Premium Channels" section, under "Starz".
