Purpose (without spoilers)
Apr. 12th, 2008 09:36 pmI got myself "Up To Date" with back-issues of The Walking Dead (up to issue #48) and I... I can't...
Robert Kirkman is the only Comic Book Writer that has ever been able to SHOCK and HORRIFY me enough to physically DROP THE COMIC BOOK in mid page-turn and be nervous to pick the book back up to finish it. If you read this book, you probably know where I went numb. My heart was racing... I broke in to a cold sweat... I couldn't blink - I COULDN'T STOP READING! The only thing I can compare it to would be the first time i saw the original Evil Dead (my very first horror film after a childhood of nothing even so scary as Disney's "Headless Horseman").
So I went and bought my tickets to the Emerald City Comic Con today so, if for no other reason, i can at least go and slug Robert Kirkman in the jaw for doing this to me.
(On a sid enote, the one thing I dislike about The Walking Dead is that it's not a comic that a casual reader can just pick up an issue of and be ready to go. It's something that has to be read from the very beginning, in order.)
