A day of accomplishments.
May. 28th, 2009 06:10 amThere were several minor things on our Great Big List Of Stuff We Want To While In Ohio that we never thought we would accomplish because of time constraints. But yesterday The Fates came together and said "Hey, let's give the kids a break".
- An aunt's birthday and meeting-up with an old friend resulted in a trip to the Toledo Chuck E. Cheese (there were several children involved). The Toledo Chuck E. Cheese KICKS ASS!!! Unlike our Washington State Chuck E. Cheese restaurants that give you just three tickets per game regardless of if you do good or not, Toledo rewards you for your mad-phat Skeeball Skillz. When you get a 20-ticket bonus, YOU ACTUALLY GET 20 BONUS TICKETS!!!! I came *so close* to winning an inflatable hammer I could practically TASTE IT.
- Since we were in Toledo, we had the opportunity to eat at the world famous Tony Packos Hungarian Restaurant, made famous on the TV show M*A*S*H as Klinger's favorite hot dog restaurant. You may have seen them profiled a few dozen times on The Food Network... they're that place that has hundreds of Hot Dog Buns signed by celebrities on their walls. VERY GOOD FOOD and completely different than anything i ever expected. We had a cabbage roll, a "Tony Pacos Original" hot dog that was more like a keilbasa on a hot dog bun with onions and chili, deep-fried pickle chunks and a cup of chili. WOW was it good food! And seeing all the buns signed by different celebrities was nifty, too :)
- We also got to stop by a Meijer store on the way out of town. Why was that important? Because Meijer is the only retail chain of stores that sells Star Trek T-Shirts! We got one, and for only $7 :)
- Lastly, we stopped at Rally's for some Fries. I had mine "Fully Loaded" with Bacon, Cheese, Chili and Rand Dressing. I sure do wish we had Rallys back home *sigh*
