Righteousness Mode: Disengage

Don't get me wrong... I'm not calling for the abolition or criminalization of alcohol or anything like that. People drinking booze is one of our greatest freedoms! To me, it just makes no sense whatsoever.

I'm also in favor of legalizing Marijuana, even though I myself would never smoke the stuff for many of the same reasons I wouldn't drink (to a much lesser degree, of course).

I'm Pro-Choice and think that Women should be allowed to do whatever they like with their own bodies and their own lives, even though I myself am appalled and horrified by the thought of Abortion.

But it's not really about *me*, is it? it's about YOU. YOU have to live with the decisions that you make, not me. That's why I believe in Education rather than Legislation. Instead of telling them THAT'S BAD AND YOU'LL BE PUNISHED IF YOU DO IT, why not explain to them WHY it's bad and let them decide for themselves?

Booze, Pot and Abortion... all things I've researched and thought about thoroughly. All things I don't want to do, all things I don't understand why anybody WOULD do them, but all things that I think people should make up their own minds about.

Assault With A Deadly Weapon

Beth's first court date was today, they're officially going with "Assault With A Deadly Weapon". Defense asked for her to be released on her own recognizance, Prosecution said "Are you effin' KIDDING me?!?", pulled out Beth's mile-long rap sheet (mostly DWI's) and pointed out that 98% of theme were related to booze. Her current situation is booze-related. You can't let her go. Judge agreed, bail is set at $100,000.

Meanwhile, the trip to go get Beth's stuff tomorrow is canceled since Barry is back in the hospital due to complications. A tube they out in his kidney fell out and is now floating around in there somewhere :(
