The Mystic order of the Sacred Slinky Game Night this month will be on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26TH. Not *this* Saturday, not *next* Saturday, but the Saturday after that. This should accommodate those of my friends who have possible Swine Flu infections, giving them time to get well.

Invites will be sent out via Facebook soon. If you want to come and you're not on Facebook yet? Please, join us here in the present and get yourself a facebook account. It's easier to keep track of silly things like this over there than it is on Livejournal :)

How is it that Pajama Sam - a kids game released in 1996 - A kids game made for Windows 3.1 and contained on ONE DISC along with demos of other games as well - How is it that THIS GAME looks, sounds, feels and plays better than any new games in our collection? Clifford, Dora, Sesame Street... all these games are dull. Pajama Sam is a really good story, well acted, excellent graphics and animation...

Back in "The Day" i worked for the company that did the tech and customer support for Humongous Entertainment, the company that made this game. I remember everybody talking about how these guys were the Disney of computer games. Back then I didn't really care, but now I fully understand it! I can hardly wait for Molly to go to sleep tonight so i can play this game for myself!

Bellingham Comic Book Convention on October 25th.

Portland Comic Book Convention on November 15th.

I'll be getting a table at *one* of these shows, but which one?

Series of PRO/CON posts to come soon...

    Bellingham Convention Pros
  • One-and-a-half hours away, with convenient parental pit-stop at the 45-minute mark.
  • Saturday the 24th, so we could drive up Friday night and be home by Sunday night.
  • The last Bellingham show was EXTREMELY profitable for us.
  • Cheap tables.
  • Opportunity to be the "Big Fish" in a small pond (my table is ALWAYS popular)

    Portland Convention Pros
  • Bigger convention with a long history (since 1978) and sterling reputation.
  • Have only ever been to an Oregon convention *twice*, have NEVER had a table at one.
  • New customers who have never seen my junk before.
  • Opportunity to drop in on Cousin Katie and Jeremy.
  • Larger probability of bumping in to Neil & Kriten, which is always a warm-fuzzy feeling :)

    Bellingham Convention Cons
  • Smaller convention = Less Customers
  • Convention being put on by somebody completely different this year
  • Different location than last year; not anywhere near The Mall which I thnk brought most of the customers last year
  • Not much in the way of celebrity guests yet

  • Close enough to the border that Canadian Currency may become an issue
      Portland Concention Cons
    • Three hours away is awfully far to drive with an open truck full of paper goods in Washington State in November
    • Unfamiliar with the venue
    • Tables are more expensive
    • On a Sunday, which would mean not getting home till late Sunday night.
    • Would have to take two vehicles, I think...
    • Not much in the way of guests yet

Delivered groceries to a sick friend... a friend who got sick at PAX...

He's wheezy. He's rhaspy. He coughs a lot. He can't stand the light.

I'm pretty sure it's not H1N1, but just to bwe safe I boiled the money he used to pay for the groceries.
