Had our first big decision to make as parents this past weekend... we had to choose between two different Birthday Parties.

ON THE ONE HAND - Little girl turning 5, nice party at the child's home.

ON THE OTHER HAND - Little boy turning 4, AWESOME PARTY at 321 BOUNCE in Everett! Giant inflatable bounce houses! Air Hockey! Giant Boxing Gloves! Jousting! Free-Throw Basketball! Foosball!

The invitations for each party came on the same day, no way to make a cop-out "Well THESE people invited us FIRST" argument. No amount of schedule-juggling and time manipulation would allow for us to make it to both parties. We had to actually MAKE A CHOICE :(

We of course chose the great big Bouncy-House party because, well, it was at the Bouncy House. and it was indeed awesome. Doesn't keep me from feeling guilty, though...

I haven't read anything this stupidly infuriating in quite a while, but saw it posted a a "Status Update" on Facebook. It's just... I can't...
Shame on you America: the only country where we have homeless veterans without shelter, children going to bed without eating, elderly going without needed meds, and mentally ill without treatment - yet we have a benefit for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations. 99% of people won't have the guts to copy and paste this, ......it's a shame!!!

I think it really speaks for itself, doesn't it? The only thing I'd change about it is that last line... "99% of people won't have the guts to copy and paste this BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT THAT STUPID!

After trying to figure out exactly what it is that i want to say about this, it's made me come to appreciate it a bit more. It's a great little tool for seeing in to how THEY work. Not Republicans, not Democrats, but your Stereotypical, Average, Stupid, Lazy American. The unwashed masses that are used by both political parties to achieve their end goals. The ones who voted for Obama because he had a cool poster and a snappy slogan. The ones who voted for Bush because if we didn't then The Terrorists had already won. The ones who are "Undecided" not because they need more time to study their choices, but because they want to see who all their frineds are gonna vote for.

In their world, we Americans really ARE the picked-on Nation. The ONLY country where there are homeless veterans. The ONLY country with starving children. The ONLY country without Socialized Health Care. The ONLY country with crazy people who go untreated.

And they really don't see why we should help a place like Haiti. After all, they don't have any homeless vets, healthcare issues, mentqal illness or starving children. All THEY had was an iddy-biddy Earthquake. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA POOR HAITI! Well guess what, Haiti? My 401k got wiped-out last year, so SUCK IT! Things are tough all over!

This... this is the world that THEY live in, isn't it?

And the worst part is, 99% of people won't have the guts to copy and paste this :(

I'm not saying that you can't have a difference of OPINION with me. If you want to say "What with all the problems we're having domestically with homeless vets, hungry children, poor health care and whatnot, I don't think we should be sending relief funds to Haiti", that's cool with me. To each his own.

BUT! If you say "WE ARE THE ONLY COUNTRY THAT HAS ANY PROBLEMS AND SHAME ON US ALL FOR HELPING A COUNTRY STRICKEN BY A NATURAL DISASTER", you're just being ignorant and i really wish you would stop.

Luckilly we live in a country where the same rights that let you say ignorant things? Also allows me to call you an idiot for saying them!
