I'd do it all again

I'm glad I cancelled out of three or four different obligations this weekend and refused to take on new obligations; I'm still trying to deal with this stomach/head flu thingee, and we *really* needed to get the house cleaned up.

Cancelled on two different Family Get-Together events (different sides of the family), a Ren Faire in Bonney Lake, a "Family Fun Day" in Kenmore (sponsored by our favorite independent toy store, Snapdoodle Toys), and multiple offers for camaraderie from various well-wishers :)

Sit, sit, sit, stand up, clean till tummy or head says SIT YO ASS DOWN, repeat.

A WARNING TO THE FUTURE FROM 1943 WALT DISNEY

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm a Liberal, chuck-o-block full of Liberal Bias. But you HAVE to watch this cartoon from 1943 by Walt Disney, and soak in the dark social commentary. If you cringe at the thought of syrupy-sweet, childish, juvenile Disney stuff, you should watch this and see just how good Disney cartoons were. It's full of drinking and smoking and... well, that's not why I'm asking you so spend nearly 9 minutes watching it.

I'm asking you to watch it with a modern eye and see if YOU don't see what I saw - a parable that VERY MUCH parallels the rise (and fall) of "The Tea Party" - INCLUDING A FOX THAT REPRESENTS FOX NEWS. It's just incredible! Please, spend the 9 minutes!

EDIT - According to Leonard Maltin's introduction to this short on the Walt Disney Treasures DVD Walt Disney On the Front Lines, Foxy Loxy was originally going to read out of Adolf Hitler's book Mein Kampf. This was changed to just a book simply entitled "Psychology"; however, the passages that Foxy reads are still from Mein Kampf.
Also, the graves of the birds were originally going to be marked with swastikas, but Walt Disney decided to change the graves to just wishbones and to replace Mein Kampf with a generic psychology book, all in an attempt to prevent the short from becoming dated after the war.

So really, this is the best Disney Cartoon to quote Hitler EVAR!
