Sorry, I know... but I just wrote this as a reply to somebody who claimed Tomorrowland was "Liberal Propaganda", needed to post it here for comment. If you have not seen Tomorrowland, please feel fre to disregard. But if you DID see it, please read because I'm pretty sure I saw a different film than anyone else:

Everybody else seems to have seen a completely different movie than I did, something much more specific than was actually on the screen. The "Doomsday Clock" wasn't a countdown to a catastrophic environmental disaster or a war, it was an algorithm that accounted for ALL the Doomsday theories and calculated an end of the world - be it from war, global warming, alien invasion, sun exploding, Squirrelpocalypse or whatever your own personal favorite End Of The World Scenario may be. It was non-specific, which is what the problem was - if you know that The End Of The World is on Wednesday at 6:32pm due to a Robot Uprising, you can go to the Giant Robot Factory at around 5ish and blow it up thus insuring that The Robot Uprising never happens (unless your bombing somehow is the catalyst for the Robot Uprising, but then you're talking about a set destiny model which is not what The Doomsday Clock is all about, but I digress...) The problem was not that the world was coming to an end, it's that the algorithm a steady decline in people who gave a damn because it's just easier to NOT do anything than it is to do SOMETHING. If you think that The End Of The World is coming because of Fossil Fuels, then go ahead and start thinking about Alternative Energy. If you think it's going to be from the sun exploding, start thinking about building a giant Space Ark to get us out of this Solar System. It wasn't The End Of The World that was going to kill us, it was the not caring about it that had us doomed. All it took was a smart girl to come along and think about it hard enough, to say "No, we can fix this, whatever it is" to make the countdown waver. I've been super-surprised that NO ONE has seen the movie like that, the way I saw it.
