047 - Strategy
Apr. 22nd, 2016 07:46 amWe are currently reading the harry Potter books as our bedtime stories, and we're getting near the end of "Prisoner Of Azkaban". Something is REALLY begging me in this entire series of books, though...
They mention all the time about how Harry has no time for (Insert subplot storyline here) because all his time is being eaten up by the captain of the Quidditch Team wanting to talk about strategy with him "...for hours on end".
WHAT STRATEGY COULD WOOD BY TALKING SPECIFICALLY TO HARRY ABOUT FOR "HOURS ON END" EVERY DAY?!?!?
He's the *Seeker*! All he has to do is go up, look for the snitch, and get it. It's a random, independently-moving thingee! PRACTICE could help you catch it, but STRATEGY?
(For Muggles, think of it as if your Football team had a special player who's job was to watch out for humming birds and catch them if he saw any during the game, and the coach of the team spends the vast majority of his time talking to THAT GUY instead of to the rest of the team)
Here's every bit of strategy meeting they should have discussed:
As far as I can tell, the "Hours on end" every day they spend on this "Strategy" are just repeating it 547 times and then going to bed?
(And yes - In a world of Wizards, Witches, Fantastical Beasts, Giants and the likes, it's the Quidditch Captain's obsession with the strategy of "Go Git It" is where I can no longer suspend my disbelief)

"Now Harry, I think the BEST strategy here would be for you to get on your broom, go *up*, and then look for the Golden Snitch. And then when you SEE IT, you should go try and GET IT. Sound good? Cool, see you out there!"
