Brittany and her $50 Birthday Present

I must admit that I LOVE being able to take her to Hot Topic and find the one thins she's *really* looking at but thinking that there's no way she could have it, then figuring out that she can have it :) I was taken to stores many times in my childhood with promises of being able to get "Anything I wanted", then being crushed when that "Anything" had to be within a $10 limit.

One thing that bothered me was that she did't say "Thank You". But I remember being 12 and getting "The Thank-You Lecture" and not really giving a crap about it. She's 12! She'll have plenty of time from her early 20's to late thirties to regret having never said thank you, and that's an issue for her future therapist to make money off of.

I know she's thankful. I know she loves it. And I know she loves me. We had a discussion on the topic of love and such this evening that made me feel all warm inside. Much warmer than a hollow "Thank You Uncle Brian" could have possibly made me :)
