Sometimes secrets of life, the Universe and all the other stuff just reveal themselves to me for no particular reason, out of the blue. Here is one of them.

You wanna know why The Red States won? You wanna know why Flag Burning and Terri Schiavo are more important than Health Care and the war in Iraq? Ever wonder why you're not allowed to hear "Bad Words" on TV or the Radio even though they're a part of every day life?

It's 'cuz CRAZY beats RATIONAL, every time.

Dealing with a RATIONAL person is easy. They use terms like "I see what you mean" and "I understand your concern". They listen. They seem calm.

Dealing with a CRAZY person, you know that you have to do something FAST to get them un-crazy or you're gonna end up with a fork in your eye.

Why do you think I use the "Perky Little Girl Voice" and my apparent intelligence is inversely proportional to how pissed the person on the phone with me is? And my willingness to use emotional manipulation, redirection, and circular troubleshooting to make sure the customer has absolutely no opportunity to escape my hypnotic spell & scream hysterically at me...

Its not because it makes any sense at all.

erm,it makes PERFECT sense to me....oh wait, I'm one of them "fork-in-the-eye people..heh nevermind, forget I said anything in the second place, but in the first place, its the bananshirt, followed swiftly by mister zippy boots, and comming in 3rd, its crap noone wants you to say in front of their kids....funny, words like bankruptcy, indentured servitude, and LOAN SHARKS arent on those lists....

It's because everyone has been crazy... very few people have continuous times of rational in their lives.... I know a few people who don't even know what rational looks like...
