Today started out as such a nice work day! Plenty of time between calls, and the callers themselves had easy-to-solve problems that they were genuinely gratefull I could fix for them!

Then I got THE NASTIEST CALL I'VE EVER HAD.

She started out the call yelling becuase her internet hasn't worked all day long and she wanted three days of credit. I ran the usual checks and saw that her modem was on-line, there were no outages in the area... I started to ask her the standard trouble-shooting questions. I didn't even get to finish the phrase "What do you see on yoru screen" before she was YELLING about how she DIDN'T have tTIME for this and she just wanted the three days credit. I tried (without success) to tell her that I could fix it for her over the phone in under 5 minutes, and she loudly reminded me that all she wanted was credit. I offered to send a technician to her house and she informed me she would NOT allow one of our God-Damned technicians in her fucking house and that I was going to give her a credit NOW. I told her I would give her the credit if she would allow me to send someone to fix the problem, and she demanded to speak to a supervisor.

The Supervisor (Bob Kash) gave her the three days credit, no questions asked. The customer then went on for ten minutes tearing me apart, telling Bob how terrible and mean and rude I had been with her.

And since that call, every call toda7y has been absolute shit. Every customer wants to fight with me.

I want to go home :(

That sucks! I can pretty much guarentee that every supervisor is going to cough up 3 days. (its reasonable) Only one I know that would hold the line is Marina, maybe Paul. And frankly I would have too and appologized mumbling something about we'll look into it. But just so you know, you were following M&P. The customers know that if they call repair they will get the money, if they call billing, they will be denied.

Yeah, I know... and I was ready to give her the credit! Stupid me though, I was insisting that she let us actually fix the problem. And then sitting through her rip me apart on the phone to Bob was just about the harshest thing I've had to endure while working here.

Man. It sucks when your supervisors don't get your back at least a little. I hope when you make supervisor, you have better judgement.

You betcha! When *I* make Supervisor, every call I take will start with "No, fuck YOU!", before I even find out their name. If they've been transfered to a supervisor, then I know they must be a vile person in dire need of being invited to have sex with themselves :)

wow... thats just crap. i appreciate people like you with that job. its way too hard for someone like me. on the other hand, when i talk to tech support anywhere, i am really nice and remember its not their fault i have a problem. hope you have a better day next time.

Stupid supervisor. What a bad idea to have you listen in on the call. And I can't believe he didn't even give you an opportunity to let you defend yourself to him. I think I would bring it up with your supe because it just ain't right.
