If you miss just one movie this year, make it "The Scorpion King" starring WWF Superstar "The Rock"! From schizophrenic soundtrack to The Rock's oh-so-out-of-place Miami/Brooklyn accent to the ScrappyDoo-esque supporting characters, this movie deserves a place in the Swords-N-Sorcery Hall Of Shame right along with "Kull The Conqueror", "Masters Of The Universe", and "Dungeons & Dragons".

Ya know, I didn't feel *too* bad about Queen Of The Damned. The parts between LeStat and Maurius where pretty darned good, and it was the best attempt at bringing LeStat to the big screen that I have seen to date. Plus, I got to see it for free at a sneek-peek screening, and sold the promotional posters they gave us at the screening for a butt-load of money. So I guess those facts may skew my opinion :)

Besides, though... Queen Of The Damned doesn't fall under the "Swords & Sorcery" category... it belongs under either "Horror" or "Fantasy Sci-Fi" (IMHO)

ahhh posters and free screening definetely spoiled your perception, and to be honest all those movies you mentions and loads of more i keep under one category: crap, and i am too lazy to make any subdivision there. but of course that's just me.
and the only thing i liked about Queen was the soundtrack, cause i found the whole plot and LeStat pathetic (interview with the vampire and Cruise as LeStat there seems to be now SO MUCH better), but again that's just me, so there.

Oh my GOSH, you've GOT to be KIDDING! You *liked* the Tom Cruiz LeStat? Or just prefer him to the kid in Queen of the Damned?

I'm dead serious, Cruise as LeStat was so much better than this kid. i mean if i really have to choose i'd choose Cruise, but if i don't have to choose then i'd hand both of them one way ticket and send some place far away where they shoot actors, not movies. Though they both were probably way better than I'd be as LeStat, heh.
Anyways, any idea which actor would make a good LeStat?

lolol you killed me with Leonardo, Rutger is way better but he has blue eyes, I have no idea who i'd cast as LeStat, someone dark eyed/haired and erotic and able to seduce crowds, but if i had to name someone specific - impossible, but Leonardo? lololol
