The shirt I am wearing today has an icky smell to it. Kind of sour, kind of urine-ish. And I notice the smell every time I put it on. And ever time I wear it to work I end up taking it off during lunch (swapping fro a different shirt) and sticking it in the laundry.

I think that

khristle then finds it on top of the hamper, sees none of my usual markings (it's a white shirt so I would usually have it smeared with spaghetti sauce or grease), and promptly hangs it back up where the cycle can start anew in a week or so.

I MUST BREAK THIS CYCLE!

Marine Biology, my senior year, I sat next to the most handsome of young men, Daniel Upshaw. one morning, in a mad rush, i ran to the laundry room to find something clean to wear. apparently, there was a shirt i have long since forgotten sitting on top of the dryer. i pulled it on and ran out the door. with the windows rolled down, i drove to school probably singing at the top of my lungs 4 non blondes or something, then i bolted down the hall into my class where i ploped down next to mr. upshaw. it was only when i had stopped moving around that i noticed this smell. the smell of damp clothes that had been in a pile and now reminded me of a vinegar salad my grandma used to make. i looked over to Daniel who crinkled his nose and said, "crap, what smells?!?" course i excused myself to go home and change and die a little.
