Apr. 23rd, 2002 09:58 pmWe went and checked out The Game Store that Zannah keeps talking about in her posts... man, what a great place! It's like how the old WotC game center used to be, only with *friendly* and *courteous* salespeople, better natural lighting (WINDOWS! OUTDOORS! THE BRIGHT HURTY DAY STAR IN PLAIN VIEW!), better networked computer room, better facilities for playing X-Box and PS2 games (ultra-cool isolation room with surround-sound), and NO ARCADE GAME NOISE TO FILL YOUR FREAKIN' EARS AT EVERY TURN!!!
Some of my favorite points of the store:
...And things I didn't like.
Other than those two things, it's definately an A+++ shop, and I intend to spend a few nights a week there from now on!
Some of my favorite points of the store:
*HUGE, segregated area for miniature wargame battles. I can hardly wait to bust out the MageKnight collection upon those miniature terrains!
*TONS of table space. Reminded me a lot of the cafeteria at Anacortes Middle School. So there's room for pretty much any game you want to play, at any time!
*ACCORDING to the calendar, it looks like there's a different tournament going on every night! Got's to love the tournaments, bay-bee!
*CLEARLY marked restrooms. You can't BELIEVE how nice it is not to have to stand in line to ask an employee where the bathroom is!
...And things I didn't like.
*You can't tell what the prices of anything behind the counter is (booster packs, starter decks) without asking for help or leaning WAAAAAY over the counter. Bigger price tags?
*The stench of a thousand gamers who just don't know about a little invention known as Deoderant. I know, I have been guilty of the same crime countless times, and the odor is *really* a part of the gaming experience... but maybe this could be solved with a simple decontamination booth at the entrance to the store?
Other than those two things, it's definately an A+++ shop, and I intend to spend a few nights a week there from now on!
