Y'know, the two apples and an orange that I found in the car WOULD HAVE BEEN a good enough lunch IF:

1) I had eaten "Breakfast" at the normal time of 2 in the afternoon instead of at 11 in the morning.

2) I were working a regular 8-hour shift instead of the 12 hours that I'm here for today.

Seeing as how I *am* working a 12-hour shift AND had my breakfast 3 hours early, the 2 apples and an orange were gone before 3 this afternoon. I'm sorry, but I had to break down and buy a Subway Sandwich on my lunch break :( I've already eaten 6 points worth of my Roast Beef On Wheat, and am very tempted to eat the other 6 points right now. But that would leave just 5 points for dinner tonight - a double-batch of oatmeal and an ounce of raisins? Hmmmm...

I'll wait till my 9:45 break before I do anything drastic witht he other half of this sammich.

I think you can get a 6" turkey on wheat for 5 points - I just get lettuce, but as long as you don't get mayo, oil, dressing, or bacon, it's pretty low.

They have an awesome fat-free honey mustard that's good on their sandwiches*. They also have a fat-free Italian that's good along with the olives, peppers, onions, etc.

* To the extent that anything at Subway is awesome. I have a long standing aversion to the chain because back home, their sandwiches were more expensive than po-boys at random corner grocery stores, yet far inferior.

Well sure, but what *isn't* inferior to the All Mighty Po-Boy?!?!? So many shrimps you godda eadum widda FORK!

I went with the Daily Special, which today happened to be Roast Beef. According to the spreadsheet, it came in at something like 6.9 points so I rounded up to 7. Had all veggied they could pile on and a bit of that fat-free honey mustard. Good stuff, but I ate the whole foot-long! GRRRR!!!

But hey! The point is that what you *didn't* do was say, "Well, as long as I have to buy food, may as well buy a BigMac .. and some fries .. and ..", right? You stayed on plan!

Yeah, you can't think about this as a failure. When you think about it, all you did was make it so you have to have a smallish dinner or dip into your weekly points.

If you compare the points you take from eating that sandwich and compare to, say, a double whopper with fries (something like 35 points), a 4-piece fried chicken meal (40+), etc., you see what I mean about not failing. :D

Oh, sure! I don't actually see the choice of Suway as a failure, but rather my poor planning in having thought that 2 apples and an orange would get me through the day. HAT was a planning failure on my part!
