My new obsession this week? Odd-ball kids records of the 60's and 70's. It started with my trying to find .mp3's of the old "Power Records" I used to get when I was a kid. You know, the ones that came with a comic book and a record that was a dramatization of that comic, making it a bit of a read-along? I figured I could burn a CD of those and listen o them with Molly while we fall asleep each night. And yes, it works wonderfully!

But then I stumbled upon stuff like the album mentioned above. "Ghoul Music" is the stuff of my dreams! This is the heart and soul of Rockailly music! Their sound is what drove me towards bands like thespooklights and that Halloween album tha Rob Zombie produced several years back. Good old-fashioned Zombie Surf Music!

This was a very specific stage in his career, shortly after White Zombie but before he started doing his own stuff. It was an album called "Haloween Hootenany", it's all orange and has three guys in 70's monster masks on the cover. Ever heard it? THAT'S my cup of tea!
