Seeing as how it was a wasted night of pain and drugs (and not in the FUN way), we got caught up on a bunch of DVR'd shows, number on of which, of course, was...

GILMORE GIRLS SEASON PREMIERE!!!! I think I was one of the VERY few fans who was angry at Loreli at the end of last season, as everybody wanted to blame Luke because he wouldn't just go ahead and elope right away. Well al I can say is HA! I now feel FULLY vindicated and righteous! That lady ha got A LOT of nerve! And she's gonna have to spend AT LEAST the entire season convincing me that she even DESERVES a great guy like Luke ever again! And as if I didn't already have enough reasons to hate Christopher (spoiled little rich boy, abandoned Loreli and Rory over and over again), I now ALSO think he's just a huge slimeball. GET OUT OF THEIR LIVES, CHRISTOPHER!

Second thing we watched was the series premiere of HEROES. My opinion is, of course, tainted. I love comic book, I love super heroes, I love Sci-Fi. There was really no way I COULDN'T love this show. But what REALLY got me was [livejournal.com profile] khristle's reaction! She's not a hard-core Super Hero fan, but she LOVED it! Was on the edge of her seat! And is clamoring for more! The only quible I ha with th show, though, was that a Solar Eclipse that's viewable in New York wouldn't be simultaneously seen in Japan, would it? How could that even be possile?

that one guy manipulated the time/space continuum. For that moment he blended New York and Tokyo...

Yeah, but wasn't he watching the eclipse in Tokyo?

1) no it wouldn't. Curvature of the earth aside, they're on almost exactly opposite sides of the planet. People in japan are SLEEPING when New York is being New York.

2) its possible because of Movie Physics, and Dramatic Effect, and several other physics-bending techniques commonly used in shows like this.

Lynn says it might be because the Japanese dude was warping between Tokyo an New York at the time...

Curses to my inconvinient time to be moving cross country, and me with no cable at this time to boot. Guess I'll be adding that show to my list of things to torrent once I arrive home!

Luke is a great guy, but he completely ignored Lorali last year. The moment he met April he was overwhelmed, I get that. He would have been one hell of a dad, one of the good responsible fathers that make time for their kid and pays the child support before the rent.
The moment he made April and her mother off limits and then didn't talk to Lorili at all about April, he started hurting her. She stood back and let him have his way, until he needed her to fix the disastrous birthday party. But after that one must have encounter he tried to put Lorali back in the box on the shelf. He refused to talk to Lorali about when he thought they might be able to set a wedding date, of when Lorali might be included in April Luke time. Frankly he used her in the worst way and stood there dumbfounded when she said no more.
The "I slept with Chris." Low freaking blow, but Luke needs to remember that Lorali is worth opening up his tight little I don't need anyone, I'm always right, control freak world. Why does he and Taylor clash every day? They are the same kind of control freaks. They do what they want because they insist they are absolutely right, damn the consequences, to paraphrase Luke. He shut the door in Lorali’s face far too often. Too many private, off limits, too many I don’t need or want you's. Ba-bye Luke, it was fun until it wasn’t. That whole Spencer/Tracy bickering, yeah its really about control and abuse, not love.

Gosh it was nice to say that.

I never thought I would acuse YOU of all people of this type of thing, but it sounds like this is definately a "Chick" thing. Every woman I talk to about this is of the same mind, saying that even though Loreli was SAYING it was okay for Luke to postpone the wedding and not let her associate with April, he should have KNOWN that it really wasn't okay and in fact it was the exact opposite of okay.

My official stance on it now i that I'm a guy, an I just don't know any better :(

At first it was okay, although if he had actually been looking at Lorali when he said it he would have seen her disapointment and hurt. But he let it go on way to long. I get the guy is closed off, and has no idea at all what to do with his emotions, but he made room in his life for only one person and the person he chose was April.
This is hardly the first time he has cut Lorali off, is that the kind of marriage anyone should want? One where the guy is distant except for when something dramatic happens? Heck, Emily left Richard when he stopped talking to her and telling her what was going on.

Well sure, but in the OTHER direction, does anyone really want to be married to a person who just lets everything bottle-up inside until they just can't take it any more so they run off and boink their ex?

I'll take "Amotionally Distant" over "Repressive Cheater" any time!

wasn't the guy who thought he could fly from Gilmore Girls?

Heroes was awesome! I like the preview for next week too, looks really cool.

Yeah, the nurse-guy from Heroes played "Jess", Luke's Jmaes-dean-esque nephew that Rory fell for in season's 2 through 4 :)
