Monday will be The Day Of Milking Our Insurance For What it's Worth. Dentist, Optometrist, New Glasses and THREE different doctors! I plan on making a list of a the symptoms I think i might get over the course of the coming year and seeing if I can get "Sample Meds" for each instance.

If you are cool with your doc, you may want to up front about losing your insurance and ask for a full body scan, then do stuff it indicates while you can. Another option is urgent care / ER. May be worth it to see if you have anything weird going on that you can do a quick fix on.

Also, rather than glasses, consider Lasic if your insurance covers it.

My insurance does not cover Lasic. They had some kick-ass insurance, ut not THAT kick-ass!

Full body scan... sounds *DANGEROUS*. Will it involve my butt, and specifically the insertion of anything in to said butt?

BTW, the FDA says it's not necessarily effective in finding things early enough to make treatment more effective, but I think that's because the FDA's medical insurance isn't running out in 2 weeks.

Seriously, it may help at least rule in/out sources of various pains or other weirdness you've had.

Cool Beans. If you're still having gout issues make sure to get plenty of the "flare up" meds - freak uses cholchacine (or whatever its called) & when he runs out & has no medical its the end of the world. Life can go on without the daily maintenance meds for that one but if you run out of the "clear the crystals flareup meds" then you're back to eating raw potatoes & drinking gallons of water to take care of things...

It's always good to have a plan. & it sounds like you have several. Make sure you get the glasses w/the x-ray capabilities.
