Do you know what day you were born on? Sure, we al do! But how many of us know what the #1 song in the country was on the day we were born?

When I was born, it was "Tie A Yellow Ribon ('Round The Old Oak Tree)" by Tony Orlando & Dawn!

"Sussudio" by Phil Collins

I wept with despair, then noticed the list of #1s during the Nineties and cheered right up.

"Sugar Sugar" by the Archies. In related news, I'm not fond of the "realistic" style they are using for Betty & Veronica now. In concept I don't mind. But the drawings aren't really quality work. At least it is only one story per issue and only for a limited time.

Yeah, it was an experiment doomed to failure. Seems that some new hot-shot kid got put in control of stuff at Archie and he forgot the cardinal rule of The Archie Comics Group; ALL artwork should be vaguely the same so that (a) no one knows what time period the story is really from and (b) you can recycle old stories and repackage them as new with just some minor updating of the slang used by the gang.

Is this issue from the Hippie-Groovy 60's/70's? Or is it from the Retro-Groovy 90's? The world may never know....

1972 ... "Alone Again (Naturally)" by Gilbert O'Sullivan

I have no idea what that song is! I was born to Soul Train though. The lady who shared a room with my mom had it on.

You should go and download the song, see if it's odly appropriate or ironically depressing as compared to how your life turned out. Most people find some sort of connection to their birth-song :)

Nov 26, 1974 - "I Can Help" by Billy Swan

I listened to a clip of this song (barf) and realized that it's been used for a commercial in the not-so-distant past. Can anyone remember which commercial it was?
