That's MY Litle Girl!
Jul. 9th, 2007 01:08 pmThanks to the generosity of The Snohomish Public Library System, I am enjoying several volumes of SCTV from the early 80's. For those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, SCTV was the springboard to stardom for John Candy, Eugene levy, Catherine O'Hara, Martin Short, Dave Thomas, Rick Moranis and a fistful of other comedy legends of the 80's. Despite the potential to come off as dated and stale material. this stuff is 100% comdy GOLD! Unlike episodes of Satrday Night Live from the same era, this show is non-stop GREAT comedy bits with an underlying storyline that ties it all together nicely to reward viewers who tuned in each week.
Molly LOVES the show. Her favorite bits so far sem to be Rick Moranis doing his "Merv Griffin" impression, and The Great White North with Bob & Doug McKenzie ! She loves them so much, she even stops playing with our blocks and sits MESMERIZED as soon as she hears Dave Thomas do his "Kooooooo Loo-Koo-Koo-Ku-Koo-Koo Koo Koooooo..."!
So proud of my Lil' Punkin'! She has such great taste in entertainment!

Date: 2007-07-09 11:15 pm (UTC)I have fond memories of watching SCTV when I was a kid. Oddly enough I didn't much like Eugene Levy at the time and love the heck out of him now thanks to movies like BEST IN SHOW and A MIGHTY WIND in addition to his time on one of the best sitcoms ever, GREG THE BUNNY.
