  • Finally started reading "Enders Game"... only on the third chapter and WHOA! I'm hooked!
  • Struggling with geting through "Madly" by [livejournal.com profile] nealbailey because even though the lead character doesn't change at all, my attitude towards him does. I've shifted from admiration to pity to loathing to hatred to envy to bewilderment - and I'm only at the half-way mark! I *think* I like the book, ut I'm not sure... but I do know that I'll never be able to eat chocolate cake in the same way again, EVAR!
  • Having trouble convincing [livejournal.com profile] squirlywrath to go with the whole "Crew Of Dead Redshirts" Star trek Theme for next year's ECCC, she wants something "Sexy". I think as soon as she sees the mini-skirt and Go-Go boots she'll change her mind.
  • [livejournal.com profile] khristle and I successfully chased away two sets of smoking neighbors - the ones right next to us and the ones directly below us. They have been replaced by nice non-smokers! A friendly young couple (Keith & Jennifer) with two dogs below us, and a quiet iPod girl with a ton of Art Supplies next door. They all moved in ove the course of this past week, and we've not heard nor smelled them yet other than introductions as they moved in!
  • Is it so wrong of me to have no real desire to se the new Harry potter flick?

My huband is a big Orson Scott Card fan and has had me read Ender's Game (and maybe one or two other OSC books). I loved Ender's Game, it was a great book. Hmmm..... I should read that again!

1) What? You mean you've never read 'Ender's Game' before? I'm...I'm so disappointed. Of course, afterward, you must read the 'Ender's Shadow' series before jumping to 'Speaker for the Dead'. Trust me on this one.

2) I don't think I want to know. The 'Illuminatus! Trilogy' screwed me up enough, luckily leaving me able to consume chocolate cake (but not orange juice) unscathed. I like cake.

3) What is the Crew that you speak of? You have roused my interest!

4) I can't think of anything fun or witty to say about this.

5) Not wrong of you. I'm only interested in Book Seven, to tell the truth.

(1) I am ashamed of myself for never having read any Orson Scott Card. But I'm doing what I can to make-up for my past indiscretions!

(2) I'll let you know if you should want to know once I'm done knowing if I want to know.

(3) Ah! For this year's Emerald City Comic Con, we were thinking of geting together a large(ish) group of people to wear Classic Star Trek costumes and go as "Al The Red-Shirt Expendable Characters Evr Killed on the Classic Star Trek". You're welcome to join if I can get enough people going with it!

(4) You are forgiven.

(5) Meh.

1) You are forgiven.

2) Okay then...

3) Oooh, yay! I would love to do that!

she obviously isn't familiar with Yeoman Janice Rand.

which incidentally I could totally do if I find a tight red t-shirt dress. I've got some good boots, and could do a nice up-do!

When you were a wee youth, you were compelled to read this book...but you decided to be difficult. Who knows what would have happened if you'd read it at that critical adolescent stage. High, bold, lusty adventure, methinks.

Oh, well. At least you get stage 2. Read "Snow Crash", immediately.

Another one for you to ponder...

You may have no interest in seeing the new HP flick right now. You may have a case of hype sickness too. But someday you WILL watch it. I guarantee it. Dumbledore loves ya baby!

All we need is some black electrical tape to put large X-es over our eyes to indicate that we are truly dead! WE COULD WIN THIS!!!
