I only ever read Ender's Game before moving on to Ender's Shadow and the rest Bean's story. I didn't/still haven't read the rest of Ender's story after Game (Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, etc). I started reading them but didn't like them as much. I loved Bean's books though.
I did read the Ender-related short stories, though.
I dunno, I read Ender's Game, then Speaker for the Dead, then Xenocide. Didn't realize there was another one, although I agree that Ender's Game really was the gem out of them all.
Aparenty there ae SEVERAL other books that I didn't know about, including an entire series of novels focusing around Ender's lil' Buddy BEAN! And collections of short stories as well.
But this 'Ender's Shadow" that I've heard of? it's "Ender's Game", only told from a DIFFERENT CHARACTER'S perspective!

If you read the other books first, you'll miss the whole point...and Ender's Game has a very poignant, very specific point.
