Equivalent Exchange; to obtain, something of equal or greater value must be lost.

The folks who spent all last week complaining the loudest and the hardest about not wanting to read any Harry potter spoilers, are the ones who were the first and the most anxious to post spoilers in their own LJ after having read the new book.

I promise not to post ANY spoilers... until, AT least, next week. *wink*
Hey! Have you started/finished reading it also mister? *looks at him in wonder*
Are we gonna have to build a Harry Potter Book Club Discussion group for Live Journal after this? It Is The last book after all. *OMGNooooooooooooooo*

I read the first book, and maybe half the second book before I lost interest. And "Goblet of Fire" was the last of the movies I remember seeing.

Really, Harry Potter just doesn't do it for me :(

That's all good.
Some people don't get Harry Potter. Initially I started to read them because I wanted to make sure my son was'nt too young for the story line. After that though, I read them because I liked 'em.

The characters remind me a lot of my son (And most teenagers in general really, my youthful self included).
Life as an angsty, frustrated, misunderstood and arguementitive human being who's moods change in a matter of moments ...
Most teenagers ARE "Harry Potter and gang"... minus the cool magic, gadgets and such, of course. *lol*
I guess raising some one close to the same age as the movie characters helps to recognize that though. If Ty had been younger when the first book came out I probably wouldn't have given it a moments thought ..
I probably would have been thinking .."It's supposed to be a kids book! It's about an abused boy who finds out he's got magical skills...Has more than one big bad guy stalking him .. sounds like an awful story" I mean Come On. *lol*

Hurray!!! someone else out there who doesn't really get the Harry thing.

I read the first couple books when Rosie O'Donald was the only American who had ever even heard of Harry Potter and was having the books sent in from England by a friend. Remember the first I think 3 books were available in England months before they were released in America. I got bored about half way through the third and gave them to my little sister and her then 4 year old.

He LOVED them and its been all Harry every since.

I've seen the movies and will get to the new Harry movie, but my world will go on no matter what happened in #7.

Are they at least putting it behind a cut? If they aren't they deserve be-heading! Or a least a strongly worded comment.

i didn't say WHO it was that died. honest. closest to a spoiler on my LJ was my comment about Mrs. Weasley. And even then, her own kids are scared to cross their Mum.

sorry for any offense/spoilers given. it certainly wasn't intended.

Not to worry, it wasn't you :) It was about 25 *other* folks on my Friends List who did it this way!

Yay! A Fullmetal Alchemist reference!!! This leads me to ask... Have you finished the series yet?

I haven't gotten around to the Potter books myself. Just when I was going to, I got into The Bartimaeus Trilogy. Then I decided to change genres for a while.

Anyhoo, my wife is reading the last one now, so I know a couple of things that happen. She's not telling me much though, 'cause I do actually plan on reading them.

YES! Finished the series, sill have to watch The Movie. The series ended so... abruptly. Neither of us was very satisfied. Hopefully the movie will give us a little more?
