There. I now have a FACEBOOK PAGE. *siiiiiigh*.

I'm such a sheep :( But the reason for getting the account was just so I could read what had happened with my old Business partner, Roy.

Those of you who are my long-time friends know what this means to me. Why i would want to knwo what he's doing these days without actually having to contact him. He's not responsible for me having sold my dreams, but I'll always blame him for it anyway.

He lives in Everett. He's a Real Estate Agent. He still considers himself to be an "Artist". He's married, presumably on purpose. He's chunked-up quite a bit and no longer wears glasses.

No mention of if he still likes to take nude pictures of underage girls, though :)

In 1988 he drew far better than I can now. I don't call my drawings art but I give him the benefit of the doubt that he's improved at least a little in 20 years.

I don't know anything about his photography, underage or otherwise.

I guess I don't have the negative experience with him that you do, not that I've ever believed him to be perfect.

Right now, I'm in a terrible mood and could go on a Roy-Bashing SPREE that would last all night, but... I can't have you going on and thinking that your artwork isn't as good as his "Art"!

All i wanna say to that is The Secret to Roy's art was that he traced photographs. And his comic book was a direct, line-for-line (at times) rip-off of a novel called "Electric Dreamer". YOUR artwork is simple and original, and your story telling is more imaginative and fun than... it's like a... How do i describe it?

It's like that common bond that all Nerdish boys have. We all wanted to and attempted to make our own comics when we were in Middle School/High School. We all had incredible ideas that put Spider-Man and batman to SHAME with how brilliant they were. And so we drew. And we photo-copied. And we stapled. And in the end we had a physical manifestation of all our youthful hopes and dreams; half way between the Fantasy of the characters in our comic and the reality of having made it with our own hands.

Heroes of Audioland captures that magic moment. The artwork is inspired by pure love of drawing. The story is fueled by Midnight doses of Mountain Dew and Monty Python. It sits squarely on the edge of Adolescence and Adulthood in a way that feels so good you never want to leave.

And THAT is why your artwork is a MILLION times better than anything Roy ever did :)
