This early morning has brought me to a new appreciation for the up-tight and repressed peoples of this great nation of ours. Without folks getting all bent out of shape by stuff like Miley Cirus showing her shoulder in a photograph, because it really helps to make the REALLY deviant stuff much more special :)

We are a society that lives on scandal. If we can't get it we create it. We hover over the innocent just waiting for some appearance of tarnish and then we pounce, crushing them under multiple networks full of trash talking and nay saying. That she ended up saying she was ashamed of what she did (when clearly she wasn't when she did it) is just proof that the pressure is just messed up.

We will create scandal after scandal and blow them all out of proportion and when she ends up in rehab with Lindsey Lohan and the Olsen twins we will shake our heads and say we should have seen the signs of it coming but we never would have believed it could happen to her.

She says she's embarrassed by the photos, but I bet that's just 'I don't wanna lose my job'-speak for "Get a life people, I am so embarrassed that you're making idiots of yourself over photos that don't show anything really racy."

Remember that time back in the 1920's when a young starlet bared her shoulders and ALL THE CHILDREN TURNED EVIL? Man, that was a real bummer!
