Worried Papa Blogging
Aug. 29th, 2008 02:56 pmLast weekend we went to the most incredible Estate Sale that has ever been in all of recorded history. Long story short - The folks who lived there died some 20 years ago, house was kept clean but empty, they finally decided it was time to sell off some of the contents and try to unload the house. So we're talking about a house FULL of stuff that hasn't been TOUCHED since 1986. Eclectic collection of stuff going all the way back to the turn of the century! Mostly stuff from World War II on up to the early 70's. Some things, it seems that the people selling stuff knew it was worth *something* but it was appropriately priced (not over-priced like you find at these sales all the time). But 90% of the stuff was priced below a dollar. Just incredible.
They had a garage full of incredible stuff, not the least of which was a 1970's Jack in The Box. Molly LOVED that thing, figured out how to work it perfectly, dragged it all over the place... we almost bought it! But then the folks running the sale said "Uhm... you'll want to wash her hands REAL GOOD before you take her home... all that stuff in the garage was covered in RATS, that's why it's all so cheap".
Now here we are almost an entire week later and Molly is... I think she's sick. I can't tell if she has a fever (I'm terrible at that) but she's very VERY cranky and clingy. Also, restless. Can't sleep.
I'm pretty sure I'm going to insist that we take her to the doctor tonight if Crystal detects any kind of fever :(
PS: Oh, and the non-rat-infested stuff that I got from that sale? Old 8mm film of Laurel & Hardy with soundtrack record, 1971 "Look" Magazine featuring a preview of Disney World, a Hamburglar glass, a "Toyland Parade" electric toy, "Shoot-out In Space" game from '73, several vintage cook books, a 1951 Salesman Encyclopedia, WWII Soldier's Visitor Guide to Florida... and some other stuff i can't quite recall right now.

Keep an eye on her, and take her to the doctor if she gets any worse.
