Just watched The Little Mermaid with Molly for the first time.

She sat still for most of it, was extremely interested in the parts featuring Ursula...

And then, near the end of the movie where Ursula reveals herself and Ariel is lost and is getting transformed in to one of those whispy-depressed emo goth weeds?

Molly looks at the screen, wide-eyed and shouts "THAAAAANK YOOOOOU" in a tone that conveyed "About frickin' TIME! Stuck-up little... she HAD it coming to her!"

...And with that she was done with the movie. Didn't stick around to see King Triton give up his fork-thingee to save his daughter's life. Came back long enough to see the big storm/fight, that was it.

But as far as Molly's concerned, The Little Mermaid" should have been titled "Bitch Had it Commin'"

Kinda torn on that one... earlier this year she had been indicating that she would like to be the Queen from Snow White, but that phase has kinda passed. Plus, we'd like something that allows us to be a part of the costume as well.

So far my "Big Idea" is to go as a Knight, Crystal as a Princess and Molly as a Fairie. This also *just might* force my niece to get over her shyness and go out trick-or-treating with us in her Sorceress costume that she wears for our D&D games...

I don't think so... it wasn't so much a "OMG I love Ursula" type of a movie for her as it was a "I am so BORED by this whiney little - oh, hey, I guess Ursula is pretty cool" thing :)

I see that you're debating a theme costume...you could have Kristle as Snow White, you as the Hunter, and Molly as the Wicked Queen. Or switch the ladies' costumes around....*shrug*

I think my family did theme costumes one year (when my mom had custody). She was Dorothy, my brother was the Scarecrow, and I was the Wicked Witch. I was probably eleven or twelve then, one of the last times I was allowed to trick-or-treat.

I'd suggest a Scooby theme'd family costume, with Molly and Kristle as Velma and Daphne. But, I don't I don't think you'd pass as either Fred, Shaggy, or Scooby. The again, you could be one of the villians.

One year I dressed as Velma, with my eldest nephew as Shaggy, and his mom as Daphne. I had a Scooby doll to complete the scene. We told everyone that Fred took off with the Mystery Machine and Josie and the Pussycats.
