I'm kinda concerned about Molly. She's always been a little odd, but this week she's been EXTREMELY odd.
  • She just kinda started Potty training on her own on Tuesday.

  • She has stopped taking naps of any kind.

  • She gets up at 7am and won't go to sleep till Midnight, throwing fits and tantrums all night long regardless of what we do to calm her. And once she does start to fall asleep, she doesn't get an *restful* sleep till about 4 or 5am.

  • She absolutely refuses to let me get her dressed today, insisting that she needs to go out in the snow completely naked.

  • She spent this morning licking my shoulders like a cat lapping-up milk.

  • She has a severe diaper rash that seems to have developed AFTER she stopped wearing diapers.

I know it's all just regular Three-year-Old stuff and every parent goes through it. I know that nothing on that list is anything new, and long-time parents are smirking/scoffing right now and mentally composing their constructively supportive replies... I look forward to hearing all about what YOUR kid did that was cause for alarm :)

I'm just a bit overwhelmed that it's all happening within the span of 48 hours, ya know? So many changes, so little time!

*I* don't have kids, but my niece went through the whole not-sleeping-til-late thing, AND the refusing-to-get-dressed thing at around the same age, too (she always cried that her clothes were too uncomfortable, and even after adjusting her clothes, or even dressing her in sweats, she would throw a fit). My sister thought maybe she was just eating too much sugar, but even after changing her diet, we still got the same results. Took her about 6 months to grow out of the morning temper-tantrums.

Restlessness in sleeping is probably tied to the end of naps. Strange how not getting more sleep will make it harder to sleep but it does. She will either adapt to it in time or start taking naps again.

The diaper rash is also not unexpected. Her skin is adapting to its new environment. It will go away once her skin adapts.

Caleb has a cat thing too. He tears around the house on all fours yelling "Mrow!" at the top of his lungs in a very good imitation of Diego imitating Baby Jaguar. And he does it for hours at at time. Oy!

As for going out in the snow without clothes, let her (okay undies). She'll freeze and be back in to get dressed in only a minute or two. :D Of course this comes from someone with the LJ icon I have. :D
