The following film is a little promotional film for Fantasyland in Disneyland back in 1980. I was SEVEN when this came out, but I remember somehow seeing this film! It was one of the catalysts (along with reruns of The Wonderful World of Disney) that started my obsession with Disneyland. The DL that you see in this film strip is the Disney Land i wanted to go visit! Of course, by the time I got there in '91 it was quite a bit different and I only stayed for 1/2 of a day... it wasn't till The Epic Road Trip of 2001 with khristle, dotgirl and collisions that I got to have a FULL DISNEY EXPERIENCE.

Now we're debating over when Molly's first Disneyland trip should be. I say it should be on her 4th Birthday in January of '10, Crystal says we should wait till she's at least 5 or 6.

We did Riley's first Disney trip when he was 15 months, and I don't feel like he got a lot of out of it. ;)

We did it again when he was just past 4 - he got *more* out of it, but if I were only going to be able to take him once, I'd wait until 5 or 6. They say they should be old enough to talk, but young enough to sit in a stroller. ;)

We're actually planning a trip for late October - right before he turns 6. It's the 40th anniversary of the Haunted Mansion, and it will be dressed up like The Nightmare Before Christmas.

It's really a good time to go - travel isn't happening, so flights are super cheap (I found some for $150 per ticket, round trip), as are hotels.

Awww, NOW I want to go back to Disneyland!!! The hubby and I went in 2004 for our honeymoon (BEST honeymoon EVER, by the way). I've always been a Disney freak! My parents took me in 1985, I was 5 years old. It was SO magical at that age. I remember EVERYTHING, and every time I go back I STILL get that same feeling...even at 28 years old. =)

Speaking as a former kid, I really don't remember anything prior to 5 or 6 years of age. & the stuff i *DO* remember involves breaking my arm & other injuries.

I went to Disneyland when I was 4...the only thing I really remember is being completely in love with the It's a Small World ride which I am told I badgered any adult available to take me back through again and again and again...which is probably why I remember it, sheer repetition. The rest of the trip is just a blur.

Is she a tall kid? Mine is. At 4 she could get on everything that we felt she was mature enough to handle. But I think she had the most fun around 5 or 6.

I took Arianna for her third birthday. She still talks about it to this day, but I bet the memories will fade with time. She had a blast, though. She was too small for the rides that I would've liked to have gone on, but that was all right. The only ride that she was too small for that she was upset about not being able to ride was the Star Wars one.

Otherwise, there was plenty to entertain her. California Adventure has only one area that's really kid-friendly (A Bug's World), but Ari could've spent all day there if I'd let her. No lines for the cute little kiddy rides and lots of splashy water areas to keep her cool in the August heat. Plus, they have the 3-D Muppet theater there too.
