captain_slinkyOkay, there are only 3 people on my Friends List that this post physically has an effect on, but I want anybody to comment who has a suggestion.
There is a HUGE comic book convention her ein Seattle on February 9th (about 2 weeks away). Tons of creators that I really want to meet, tons of cool freebie-swag given away to attendants, and a WizKids HeroClix tournament with kick-butt prizes. This is going to be the first convention of this type to be in the greater Seattle area in over 20 years! Just *thinking* about this convention makes my pants feel very uncomfortable, for two different reasons:
(1) I could make a bit of extra money by getting a table there and selling stuff. I *love* to sell stuff at a convention! I'm a born salesman, and my love of comic books, games, and action figures just makes the selling all the better. However...
(2) I could go there and experience the best convention to hit the Seattle area in over 20 years! THINK ABOUT IT! Representatives from several publishing companies looking over portfolios, professionals like Erik Larsen there signing stuff, and a HeroClix tournament! I have SO VERY MUCH wanted to learn how to play this game, and this would be the best way to do it!
So here's the problem. If I get a table, I'll enjoy the convention on one level and still get to go do most of the stuff I want to do (get autographs and do a little shopping). If I just go to the convention as a regular geek, I'll get all the free stuff they hand out to the people in line (which usually sells very well on Ebay), get all my autographs, do some shopping (a bit less than I would if I got a table), and enter the HeroClix tournament.
Two completely different experiences, each one equally as enjoyable to me.
Now, to those of you on my Friends List that this directly effects, this is a choice between (a) getting up at 6am on Sunday morning to help me set stuff up and take turns waiting in line, then taking shifts watching the table and staying all day long till the very bitter end, or (b) letting me freeze my *own* ass off waiting in line starting at 6am, and you joining me whenever you would like to join me.
(okay, that last bit makes it sound very slanted... but really, the 6am set-up and the staying till the end and the taking shifts at the table are actually *good things*... trust me! All part of the experience!)
Meanwhile, all that stuff I have that I've been saying "Ooh, i could sell 8that* at convention!" would go to a table at the next Toy Show (which will be advertised at this convention, no doubt).

Especially since you've had such a trial with the dorks at Ebay have been giving you such a time.
