What was the name of that cheap hotel we stayed at when we went to Disney Land? The one that [livejournal.com profile] zannah and The James suggested because it's cheap, close and cheap? 'Cuz that's where we'd like to stay...

***EDIT*** Never mind... pretty sure it's the Eden Roc Inn, based on the pictures. Lil' pool, comfy beds, free wi-fi and only $65 a night!

Ooooooh and i nearly forgot to mention the FANTABULOUS "Continental Breakfast", which consists of Donuts, Oranges and Coffee. Con-tin-ENNNNNN-tallllll!!!

When we went, we stayed at the Anaheim Main Gate. Not sure where Z usually stays.

100% positive. I remember thinking "Main Gate my ass."

However! See below - the Eden Roc Inn has a special at expedia - $38.50 per night. Just select "Hotel", then search by attraction - Disneyland - and sort by price.

Okay there are A LOT of hotels calling themself the Anaheim Maingate these days... a Red Lion, a Residence Inn... not finding one that looks NEARLY as chintzy/cheesy/cheap as the one we four shared though :( I WANT PERFECTION! I WANT THE EXACT HOTEL!!!

The Rodeway Inn Maingate? That's looking more like it...

IT IS! The Rodeway Anaheim Maingate Inn! http://www.rodewayinn.com/hotel-anaheim-california-CA762/Hotel-Photos?sid=oWx1i.zcvrhgg9D.3

They even have a picture of the "Pool" and the "Continental Breakfast"! THANK YOU!!!

However, yeah... i think I'll go with the Eden Roc instead because, well... higher ratings, cheaper rooms and less front-desk folks who will say "You CAHNT go to The Pahhk... They'a KUH-LOSED!!!"

Legendary.

If that doesn't work I'd suggest checking out the Carousel Inn. It's one of the cheaper ones, a crossed the street from the gate, next to IHOP (and a couple of other restaurants) and our room was second floor almost to the pool and we could watch the fireworks from our room. It's old but very convient.

I'd stay away from the Red Roof - I think it has another name now but it's a long walk to the park (or back to the room with a sleepy kid), and when we went we had the full LA Experience with a parking lot gang fight and a helicopter/spotlight fly over. It was certainly memorable.

If the gang members are gonna riot in the parking lot of Disney Land, they should at LEAST have the decency to sing while doing it so we can tell our kids it's just the newest animatronic experience :)

Looked at the Carousel Inn and it's *nice*, but the Eden Roc is just as close (in it's own way) and is only $38 a night! Don't need a pool, don't need amenities... just need a shower and a bed :)
