While in California, I had the opportunity to dine at Del Taco (we have none in Washington State). It was food that went in to my mouth and through my digestive tract. Mostly forgettable.

EXCEPT for the Deep Fried Jalapenos.

They were exquisite Marquis deSade pain in my mouth and belly! But they really missed the boat, marketing-wise on this.

Picture it: You have a Jalapeno Pepper, sliced in to O-shaped rings, beep-fried in an Onion Ring batter. Jalapeno in bite-sized O's. Jalapeno O's. The perfect name for them would be, right? Are you seeing it too? JALAPNE-O'S!

But they decided t call them Jalapeno Rings :(

Further development in my angered mind has gone on to make the even BETTER, MORE REFINED perfect name for them, HELL-O-PAIN-O'S.

But no... they went with Jalapeno Rings. How utterly boring :(

Oh christ, I got SO fat eating there when I lived in CA still. I think I gained 20lbs in bean burritos & chili cheese fries. Straight to my ass & arms. Ugh. I'm thankful there isn't one here, actually. That, and Jimboy's.

Jimboy's was a special sort of "mexican" food. I haven't been anywhere that prepared tacos quite like there. Tasty, but oh so greasy.

Oh man, I loved their burritos too. And their fries with nacho cheese? Junkfood-gasm!

Jimboys? I have not heard of this! A culinary quest for next time :)
