captain_slinky | ECCC 2010 Part 2: Lou Ferrigno

Lou Ferrigno has a very nice set-up for conventions; he does a lot of them. Plenty of 8x10 pictures, plenty of posters, plenty of DVD's... even an old Polaroid Camera so you can get an instant picture with him! And best of all he's got a clearly visible sign saying exactly what price everything is. He's friendly and calm and patient and everything you NEED to be to keep from being hated by fans.

So I approach him for an 8x10 Picture and an autograph, and his sales pitch is "The 8x10's are $25 each, or you can get 2 for $40" in a tone that said "Really if you don't take advantage of this offer you'll regret it later". He repeated this three times as I tried to decide which one I wanted, each time with increasing hints of "You're gonna be kicking yourself if you don't get two!"

I ended up getting the classic Black-And-White image of him as The Incredible Hulk, and I love it, but every time he gave me his sales pitch all I could think was "Why would I want TWO autographed pictures of you?" I couldn't come up with a scenario that would have me saying "Dang! What I really need here are TWO autographed pictures of Lou Ferrigno, but all I have is ONE! Lou Ferrigno, you were RIGHT!"
