Random Happy Memory

Something just triggered my Quantum Leap Reflex. You know the feeling? You're just having a normal day, doing normal stuff, when suddenly you hear an old song on the radio or smell some cookies and suddenly you're flung back in time? It's stronger than just nostalgia or memory... instead of just thinking about baking cookies with Grandma, you're actually THERE, in Grandma's kitchen, 8 years old and noticing things that 8-year-old you never would have noticed. You can't change anything or even mildly control your actions, you're just along for the ride. 8-year-old you is rustling through the measuring-cup drawer looking for the quarter-cup measure, but the Time-Traveling you is straining to look around the kitchen and you notice the intricate embroidered pattern on Grandma's apron for the first time... how old it looked even then. And then suddenly, without warning you're dropped back in to the regular time stream with an elated feeling of... well, THAT'S when the Nostalgia kicks in i guess.
Maybe it's just me.
Anywho, I just had one of those and I don't know what triggered it. Suddenly I was sitting on a picnic table in the camping area out at Washington Park. This was the year that I was allowed to have my own blue-and-grey pup-tent set up away from the rest of the family, on the other side of the fire pit from our camper where my parents would be sleeping. It was morning. It was going to be a hot day, but i was wearing my nylon "Members Only" jacket because despite the early-morning sunshine, it was a bit chilly. I was alone in the camp right now, everybody else was off to the restrooms and/or showers. I had a stack of comic books next to me, almost every #1 issue from Marvel Comics new "New Universe" line of comics in that pile. The only ones i could see were Psi-Force and Kickers, Inc. but I knew that there would also be a Spitfire & The Troubleshooters and a Nightmask in that pile, as well as my usual X-Force and West-Coast Avengers issues.
But I wasn't reading those right now. NOW, I was reading the Mile High Comics Catalog, paying extra-special attention to the listing for Fantastic Four #1 in "Good" condition for just $32.
And then I was dro[pped back in to the regular time stream.
