Okay, so... BIRTHDAY PLANS
May. 3rd, 2011 07:55 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
ORIGINAL PLAN: Go to Mount Vernon on Friday night, Free Comic Book Day at Docking Bay 93, leave Molly with my parents over night while Crystal and I drive to Lynden for Evil Dead: The Musical.
DRAWBACKS: Docking Bay 93 seems like a lame place to do Free Comic Book Day, more of a game/toy store. Lynden is LYNDEN, last stop before Canada, SO FAR AWAY! SO MUCH DRIVING! It's so far to travel just to see a musical that will be in Seattle proper by October. And with gas at $4 a gallon, I don't really want to do THAT much driving.
PLAN "B": Stay here in Bothell, enjoy Free Comic Book Day at Corner Comics in Kirkland like we did last year, enjoy all my free birthday goodies from places like Denny's, Red Robin, Cold Stone Creamery and Qdoba.
DRAWBACKS: Corner Comics isn't having anything cool going on - just free comic books and 25% off anything in the store. And I don't really eat that much - do I really need all that food even if it is free? Almost seems more like a chore than a fun Birthday celebration.
PLAN III: Drive to Comic Book Ink in Lakewood for Free Comic Book Day and all the pageantry that goes with it (Storm Troopers, local celebrities, sketches, give-aways and an incredible back issue sale), drop Molly at my Brother's house for a few hours so we can go see a movie (Thor) and have some grown-up dinner.
DRAWBACKS: Lots of driving, although about half as much as the trip to Lynden would be. Also, knowing how John (the owner of Comic Book Ink) runs things, I'd end up spending WAY too much money on stuff.
SO what do YOU think? Keep in mind that regardless of what I choose to do, we're driving up to Mount Vernon on Sunday for Mothers Day.

Date: 2011-05-04 07:49 am (UTC)Lynden. Isn't that where it's still illegal to allow dancing and drinking in the same establishment?
