I've been dealing with this my entire life because I'm against taking any kind of chemical sleep aid (Nytol etc)... I've tried dim rooms, I've tried sensory deprivation, I've tried an hour of reading, I've tried warm milk, I've tried temperature control, I've tried hypnosis tapes and I've tried dozens of other sure-fire ways of falling asleep. I haven't tried that many things on Molly yet, but in her 5 years we've tried quite a few of the remedies. I like the Melatonin because it feels *natural*. It made me sleepy, but not so sleepy that I couldn't wake myself up to go use the bathroom (which happened the one and only time I tried a prescription sleep aid). It allows me to sleep but not be *drugged* to the point where I'm not alert if need be.
