Poor kitty

Our surviving cat (Joey) has been absolutely distraught over the loss of his "Big Brother" (Huffy). Huffy was always the protector in our household, protecting our territory and keeping the other neighborhood cats in line, Joey was the lazy prissy indoor lap-kitty type. But once Huffy (allegedly) passed away, Joey decided to take up the mantle of protector.
Protector is not a good title for him.
In the last week he has gotten absolutely FILTHY from all the outdoors he's had to endure. Used to a life of staying indoors for several days at a time, Joey was now spending his days AND nights protecting his turf. He also became very "Talkative". Sure he had always been a complainer, willing to cry for his dinner and whatnot... but NOW Joey was complaining about EVERYTHING. And doing it LOUDLY.
He got a very bad infestation of fleas. He was miserable as well as being miserable to be around.
So last night we decided it was time to do something.
Last night I trimmed his nails. Lat night I gave him a long, wet bath in the bathtub.
I was prepared for him to rip me apart in the bathtub, but no! He loved it! He thuroughly enjoyed getting all lathered-up and rinsed off and hand dried! It was kind of remarkable... maybe even therapeutic for him?
So after the back and so far today, he's back to being his good old prissy self. No complaining, no crying, and just as happy as can be to just sit on my lap and sleep.
I kind of missed this :)
