VERY Good Day!
May. 3rd, 2003 07:44 pmOkay, so today was Free Cmic Book Day, right? 21 different Free Comic Books plus one free Hulk HeroClix figure, and most shops will only let you have one or two freebies/comics at the most. So I had planned this BIG route of comic book stores to hit, stretching from Lynnwood all the way up to Tacoma, just so I could get a full set of free comic books. Plus, I was going to have to figure in time to go see X-2! It was going to be a busy, busy day.
FIRST STOP: The Comic Stop in Lynnwood. We were like the third or fourth people in the door. And there's Jim (the owner) standing at the back of the store with a HUGE rack of Free Comic Books and other goodies. And he says "We're the generous comic book store today... go ahead and take one of EACH COMIC BOOK. And here... here's the free HeroClix figure. And here, here's a free Savage Dragon poster. And here, here's a bunch of comics that aren't Free Comic Book Day comics, but you can have them anyway. And here's GRAB BAGS! $1 each for 5 very recent comic books!"
So WOW! I got all my Free Comic Book Day Comic Books in one stop, PLUS SOME! Not bad!
Now it was time to see X-2. Did you know that they gave away free movie tickets to X-2 in the packaging of the X-Men 1.5 DVD? I found that out last night, when i finally opened my X-Men 1.5 DVD to watch it. So we got to see the movie for a combined total of $9 (including the $4 Diet Coke). We got the perfect seats, dead center of the theater. And it was the newly remodeled Mountlake 9 Cinema, so it had the Digital Show before the movie (instead of just slides). A LITTLE INTERVIEW WITH STAN LEE ABOUT THE INCREDIBLE HULK!!!
The movie itself was, of course, excellent :)
All in all, a VERY good day :)
