If your website starts playing a video or audio clip automatically when the page loads, and/or is it pops up a "WAIT! Are you sure you want to leave this page?" when I attempt to close the tab or navigate away. I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE that I will not be giving you any of my time or money.

The only time I appreciate the "Are you sure...?" warnings is when it's a submittable form I've typed something into. Accidentally clicking or tabbing outside the text box and pressing Backspace has lost me many a post. LJ, I'm looking at you.

BUT if it's used as a technique to try to keep you on their site, that's a totally different thing. That and auto-playing video/audio are two of the Cardinal Sins of the Internet and two of the fastest ways to get me to leave a website and never return.
