Two ideas i want to write down, for working on later.

1: Rednecks, Douchebags & Zombies - College kids visit a creepy Redneck-hillbilly carnival in the middle of nowhere when a Zombie Plague breaks out. Zombies discover that all the brain-eating and shuffling and groaning is just mob-mentality peer pressure learned from years of watching Zombie Flicks. Rednecks are just regular, poorly educated people with no evil intentions at all. And the TRUE villains of the movie, the College Kids, keep trying to find ways to kill the Zombies and Rednecks because that's what they've learned from years of watching horror films.

2: Alternate Earth-3 - An alternate version of the DC Universe where the villains are heroes and the heroes are villains. NOT THE OLD-FASHIONED EARTH-3 VERSION where they had "Ultraman", "Owl Man" and the likes who formed the Crime Syndicate, but a Universe where all the characters are the same people who just made different choices. Lex Luthor is a brilliant scientist/billionaire/celebrity who is dedicated to protecting the planet and making a profit while doing it. The Joker, once a small-time criminal, was left for dead after falling in to chemicals during a heist and went a bit crazy, now fights crime to try and dissuade others from being killed in a life of crime. Meanwhile, the HEROES are all gone over the edge - Superman sees that the only way to save the Earth is to enslave it. Batman uses his wealth and intimidation tactics to bully regular citizens in to compliance with his vision of a perfect world. This isn't a story about oposites, it's not a story about bad guys going good and vice-versa; it's a story about perspective and narrative.

Wow, I really like the Alternate Earth-3 concept. That's a juicy one.

The Rednecks, Douchebags & Zombies sounds a little reminiscent of Tucker and Dale with zombies. That may not be such a wrong thing, though. I think the collective consciousness feels that T&D should have had zombies because every time I'm talking with a new acquaintance about zombie movies, they ask if I've seen T&D.

Yes, in my mind the RD&Z has a great Tucker & Dale vibe going for it - would probably be compared to it constantly if I ever get around to writing it :(

But my Alternate Earth-3, now THAT one I've had in my head for a really long time! Superman becomes a cautionary parable about Naziism, Batman becomes the "Saw" franchise, Aquaman becomes a despotic ruler of an underwater kingdom that covers 3/4ths of the planet, Wonder Woman is a tale of reverse-sexism, Green Lantern is an example of police brutality and abuse of power, beating the crap out of intergalactic criminals he was supposed to just capture and incarcerate...

Perhaps the Guardians of Oa don't have the same ethics as Earth and beating criminals to death is just part of the job. It isn't an abuse of power but an exercise of it. It's your fault for committing the crime. To quote Judge Dredd, "I am the law!" This would also give a "hero" strong enough to take on Superman.

In your scenario Lobo would be the greatest hero in the galaxy. :D

If Aquaman was a despotic ruler on his realm he would be interesting. Give me Namor over Aquaman any day.

I see Bruce Wayne becoming a cross between Lex Luthor and the Kingpin from Marvel. He's tough enough to fight but he doesn't sully himself to wear a costume. He'll let his army of teenaged mercenaries break your legs and take over your criminal empire to make his grow. He'll spend fortunes collecting every milligram of kryponite so he can enslave Superman and use him against his enemies.

In fact I see Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor as the Professor X and Magneto of Earth 3. Both have opposite visions of how the world will be and struggle against each other to win. Both are narcissists though and believe the other to be the only one truly able to provide a challenge so they fight the fight through pawns. Luthor has the Justice League (Joker, Green Lantern, etc.) and Wayne has his mercs (Robin, Nightwing, Oracle, etc.)

That's good idea, but it's *changing* Bruce Wayne too much. I want these characters to be the exact same that they've always been, only with a slightly different narrative. The whole Batman/Brice Wayne thing is the set-up for an excellent villain - Parents were killed by "undesirables", he spends his life learning how to murder them in the name of some weird civic cleansing. He uses fear, pain and his fortune to punish those who disagree with him and his undetermined vision of what the world *should* be like.

So he is more Punisher than Kingpin. Only with a ton of money and an army of highly trained henchmen.

Batman works alone! He is a lone dark knight fighting his fight alone! The only exceptions to this rule are Robin, Other Robin, Third Robin, Nightwing, Azrael, Fourth Robin, Batgirl, Commissioner Gordon, The Outsiders, The Justice League, The Super Friends, The Birds Of Prey, Huntress, Barbara Gordon, Spoiler, Bat Woman, The Second Bat Girl, Alfred Pennyworth, Sgt. Bullock of the GCPD, Lucius Fox, Harvey Dent (before "The Accident"), Cat Woman, Bat-Mite and Ace The Bat-Hound. Other than that, ALONE!
