It's a sign of respect to show up clean and well-groomed. you don't have to pretend you're someone you aren't, but at least have enough respect for the other person to take a shower, wear clean clothes, and brush your hair and teeth. If you can't show that basic level of respect, then maybe you shouldn't be dating.
