And so the time comes once again where I try to start up a "Fantasy" League for anyone who wants the excitement of being in a Fantasy Football League without having to follow or even care about Sports, while also enjoying a true "Fantasy" team made up of whoever you want - real OR imaginary!
The basics are simple; you will pick a team of 5 "Starters" and three "Alternates" from any and all possible people, creatures and other things that you can imagine.
So for instance, your Starting Line-Up may be Harry Potter, Mecha-Godzilla, Marty McFly, Elric of Melnibone and Honey Boo-Boo.
You will be paired against somebody else's team which will also consist of a hand-picked batch of folks which may include Gandolf The Grey, Hillary Clinton, Hillary Duff, Rambo and A Sack Of Oranges.
HOW YOU SCORE: On Game Day, The League Commissioner (that's me) will Google each specific member of your team (this is important) and assign points to each player based on the first digit of their total search results. EXAMPLE: A search for "Jack Skellington" (spelled that exact way and contained within quotation marks) gets 832,000 results, so he will have earned 8 points for your team. Add up the points from all 5 members of your active team, compare results to the other team, highest score WINS!
IT'S JUST THAT EASY!!! And it'll last just as long as Football Season does, so you'll be able to complain and brag about your "Fantasy Team" right along with all the Sports Fans at work!
FURTHER RULES:
Any "Player" who gets more than 1 million results will be "injured" and have to skip being in the next game (you'll have to replace them with one of your 3 "Alternates" for the next game). This is why it's important to know that "Harry Potter" gets some 1.9 Million results which only give you one point and then he has to sit out the next game, whereas "Young Harry Potter" only nets some 650,000 results for 6 points AND he gets to stay in the game next week!
The "Draft" will take place in order of those who responded - first come first serve - and no duplicates are allowed. EXAMPLE: If somebody else already has "Harry Potter", you can't take "harry potter" (all lower case) but you COULD take "Young Harry Potter". All similarity disputes will be deliberated by The League Commissioner (me).
SO! Who's interested???
