Last night the little girl who lives across the street ("Little girl - she's SIXTEEN now and I'm suddenly so much older) came over with an emergency - she needs a Princess Leia costume for a Star Wars party on Monday, and wanted to know if we have any ideas.

Crystal and I sprang in to action as though we were Cinderella's Mice on an episode of Project Runway! "You go home and get us an old white sheet! Get on the Internet and check Pinterest! Go check our supply of prop-replica guns, see if we have a Princess Leia blaster in there! And SOMEBODY MAN THE CRAFT CLOSET!!!

I love that in our neighborhood everybody knows that if you have a Nerdy Problem, we're your go-to couple. This is who we are :)

Hee. I've been getting the reputation for being the go-to person for weird or last-minute costumes. Need to be Genghis Khan for a school project? Come by for a couple of hours. Realized that you want to dress up to go to the opera on Halloween? Let's throw together a Steampunk costume in half a day. Bear paws, ears, and shoe covers? No problem. Stop by so I can make a pattern and I'll have them for you next week. Need a very fancy costume for a very gay medieval vampire pimp? Oh yeah, I'm your girl. XD
