Who decided that potato bits drenched in mayonnaise could be called a SALAD?!? "You want me to eat more salads? FINE. I'll make a salad that's nothing bot potatoes and mayo! Potatoes are vegetables! It's good for me! Thanks for forcing me to eat more salad!"

"Oh, potatoes are too starchy and full of carbohydrates? FINE. Then I'll just do the same thing with MACARONI NOODLES. There! Look at me! I'm the healthiest fella in the WORLD now!"

Okay, honest review, I really like the Salad Sampler at Haggen A LOT, conditionally. The trio of Loaded Baked Potato Salad, Garlic Aioli Penne Salad and their Spinach Pasta Salad is just right to me. None of these are spectacular foods, but they balance each other nicely - the Spinach Pasta Salad (pine nuts and an acidic vinaigrette) makes for a super-flavorful POW that is tamed nicely by the aftertaste of the Garlic Aioli Penne (with spinach), and when your mouth needs a break you have the familiarity of the Loaded Baked Potato Salad with it's bacon and cheddar and chives mixed in. The roll, I could do without - it's just a King's Hawaiian Sweet Bread Roll.
